If you believe the phrase you are what you think, then life truly unfolds from your thoughts. But we cannot rely purely on thoughts; we must translate thoughts into words and eventually into actions in order to manifest our intentions.
This means we have to be very careful with our words, choosing to speak only those which work towards our benefit and cultivate our highest good. Affirmations help purify our thoughts and restructure the dynamic of our brains so that we truly begin to understand that all is possible.
When I talk about affirmations, I mean consciously choosing words that will either help eliminate something from your life or help create something new in your life. Every thought you think and every word you speak is an affirmation. All of our self-talk, our internal dialogue, is a stream of affirmations. You’re using affirmations every moment whether you know it or not. Your beliefs are merely habitual thinking patterns that you learned as a child. Many of them work very well for you. Other beliefs may be limiting your ability to create the very things you say you want. What you want and what you believe you deserve may be very different. We need to pay attention to our thoughts so that we can begin to eliminate the ones creating experiences we do not want in our life.
When we verbally affirm our dreams and ambitions, we are instantly empowered with a deep sense of reassurance that our wishful words will become reality. Affirmations are proven methods of self-improvement because of their ability to rewire our brains. Much like exercise, they raise the level of feel-good hormones and push our brains to form new clusters of “positive thought” neurons.
This process pushes the subconscious mind to take action and to strive to make the positive statement come true. Most people repeat in their minds negative words and statements concerning the situations and events in their lives, and consequently, create undesirable situations. Words work in both ways, to build or destroy. It is the way we use them that determines whether they are going to bring good or harmful results. If we dictate to it our wishes, it will respond. When we utter a sound, we emit a sound wave into the universe. This sound wave pierces through the air and becomes a real object. It, therefore, exists in our world, intangible and invisible. No words are empty words, as we speak the energy will engage towards or against us.
I came to realize that every complaint I was making is an affirmation of something I think I don’t want in my life. Every time I get angry, I’m affirming that I want more anger in my life. Every time I feel like a victim, I’m affirming that I want to continue to feel like a victim. If I feel that Life isn’t giving me what I want in my world, then it’s certain that I will never have the goodies that Life gives to others—that is, until I change the way I’m thinking and talking. So why not choose only positive statements, in order to get positive results?
We’re not bad people for thinking the way we do. We’ve just never learned how to think and talk. People throughout the world are just now beginning to learn that our thoughts create our experiences. Your parents probably didn’t know this, so they couldn’t possibly teach it to you. They taught you how to look at life in the way that their parents taught them. So nobody is wrong. However, it’s time for all of us to wake up and begin to consciously create our lives in a way that pleases and supports us.
If you want to be a positive, fierce, and proud person without shame, learn how to be confident, emit love and approve of yourself with affirmations. Use them daily and you’ll see results in your moods and happiness levels within a few days. You may laugh, you may sneer, you may not believe a word of these affirmations but leave your logic-oriented mind on the side for a few moments a day and you will come around to believing them and watching them bring focus to your life. Affirmations work best in the present tense, just as you see below, and when you say them consciously and preferably loudly your own personal power and your connection to the universe can create an awesome combination to manifest any change into your life.
Every morning while taking a shower I utter words and create affirmations that feel good to me at that exact moment. This helps me to center and get focus for the day ahead. There is just no limit… go for it yourself….
Utilize any of these affirmations alone or create your own unique combination based on your personal wishes and needs. What is most important is to establish a profound communication with the universe — so say it with conviction, say it in your own unique voice, and make it happen in the real world.
