The Phoenix Rising Course; Holding My Own Space.

In the spring of 2015, I was stepping up and putting myself completely out there – I launched my first online & in-person empowerment course. It was such a journey and after a successful coaching practice I felt the calling to provide a space of healing and learning in a group setting.
I wrote about this process back then in my diary and wanted to share with you my vulnerability and birthing of this material.

Diary entry                                                                             May, 2nd, 2015

I’m really excited to be ‘holding space’ and contributing to my audience all that I have been holding. So while I am really pumped about teaching, as the start draws near I’m also beginning to realise that what I am about to do is something that I have been secretly dreaming of for many years.

I am really excited about the material and feel comfortable with it. But I also know enough to recognise I have on one hand no clue what I’m doing, I am completely and utterly been taken by the forces within my being and simply following the flow of life and the magical synchronicities along this new path.

Of course, the mind wouldn’t be the mind if it did not question the process of faith…What have I got to say that anybody here couldn’t say? We’ve all been on our own paths, our own explorations, our own spiritual journeys. I started thinking what is a spiritual journey anyway.

In some senses, everything that happens in life is part of one’s spiritual journey. Even my diverse and broad career is a part of this journey. But what I have come to realise in the process of fine-tuning this course is that I have always been supporting, acknowledging and training people to follow their talents and therefore to stand in their own power. Till today I’ve met thousands of people from every conceivable walk of life. And after a while, something struck me. A strange sameness existed in every individual or group of people I met. It was, as if, everyone had the same ‘problem’, but I wasn’t able to diagnose it. Oddly, I could see it, but I didn’t know what it was. But now that I have been in a transformation myself, I have started to understand the resemblance. We as species have been giving away our power, our I AM presence, we have agreed to live a dormant submissive life’s. And through our life’s journey, we have encountered events, life experiences and people who have made us feel powerless. We have been giving away our power to institutions, religion, relationships, etc.. This, of course, can lead to insecurities or a sense we have lost our direction in life and are no longer guided by our inner voice.

So for the past 3 months, I’ve been contemplating on empowerment and also the energies around it; the energies of the solar plexus and one of the focus points of my course. The gift of this energy center is sensing your personal power, being confident, responsible, and reliable. This 3rd chakra, as many of you know,  is the center of your self-esteem, your willpower, self-discipline, as well as warmth in your personality. The energy of this chakra allows you to transform inertia into action and movement. It allows you to meet challenges and move forward in your life. The main challenge for the third chakra is to use your personal power in a balanced manner. What does that mean? It means consciously harnessing the energy of the solar plexus chakra. It means being proactive rather than reactive or inactive. People with excessive third chakra energy react to life circumstances, they have emotional outbursts and are often stressed out. People with blocked or deficient third chakra are passive and inactive – allowing life to pass by while they do nothing. Strong third chakra reflects the ability to move forward in life with confidence and power. It reflects the ability to make conscious choices and to act.

The message of the third chakra is: You have the power to choose. You can choose to achieve your life purpose or you can transform out your blocks or past experiences.

I’ve always been very picky about choosing a course, seminar or workshop. There are so many spiritual workshops out there, it’s hard to know which one to choose from, let alone which one is the best spiritual workshop for you. Ultimately, your decision will be determined on what you’re personally looking for. For me, what determines a life-changing, spiritual workshop, is how it feels on the inside. A spiritual workshop isn’t something I would attend for mental stimulation, rather for connecting with my heart (or we could call it, ‘self’) and connecting with my well-being. Essentially, I want to have an experience that one might call ‘spiritual’, others may call it, mindfulness. When, for a moment in time, your life slows down’ and you can once again reconnect with yourself. A simple act of “checking in” on how you’re doing is so important, it’s what I call, part of our conscious spiritual or life journey. Equally essential, is paying attention to that intuitive-voice inside that guides you and that many of us have lost connection with. These are simplistic understandings to the magical world of self-discovery, and in my opinion, they are vital.

  2. […] A question that comes up on occasion during my guided journeys is about mythological or etheric animals, such as dragons or unicorns. Although some would insist that they exist in third dimensional reality, it really doesn’t matter whether they do or not. If you believe they do, then they do. Any of these so-called mythological animals can certainly be your power animal. Not so long ago the Phoenix came to me during a mediation, I wasn’t looking for any mythological connection, it appeared with a very precise message and since has been the Totem Animal of my one-day course: The Phoenix Rising.
